SUMMERY OF STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
My strengths are…….
Working alone and being motivated. I can find and learn anything I need to know. So my problem solving skills are good I would say.
I am always pushing myself to improve in one area at least. I will never be content to stay as I am.
I have been improving with my planning and breaking down tasks this year so I don’t feel so overwhelmed.
Meeting deadlines.
My weaknesses can be……..
Working with difficult people
Being consistent with everything! Including social media posting. My mindset seems to go in cycles.
Being distracted when working from home by housework and getting stressed with family and home life when I have deadlines.
Presentations, I hate them and standing in front of groups of people, but I understand that I will have to do this at times, and will strive to improve this.
Threats to my learning can be………
Motivation when I am home for too long without social interaction. My family and the house needing things done, because their things are always more important than my work, and they will not leave me alone to work.
What influences your dress sense and what you chose to wear each day?
I tend to choose clothes that are comfortable to wear whilst doing school runs and sitting at my laptop, but I also like them to be fashionable and the latest styles as well. I have a very neutral minimalist style mostly, and then I love floral style tea dresses in the summer as well.
What influences your style?
The colours that I am liking at the moment, for example neutral colours at the moment. The clothes that I find beautiful but also that I feel will suit my curvy shape, as I am not super thin I cant pull off everything.
Do you have a certain image and why?
I like to look appropriate for being a mum. I wouldn't like to turn up to the school in short skirts and high heels, because I think the image it gives off is trying too hard. I like to look like I follow trends, but not in a teenager kind of way if that makes sense. I do love to dress up when I go out in Torquay with my girlfriends.
Do you have particular favourite colours, labels, designers, trends or era of fashion and how does that affect your taste?
I love simple colours like white, black, beige, dark brown, grey. But sometimes I do like to have a splash of dark green or red. I do wear a lot of Nike and Gymshark brands, but mixed in with Primark. For my smallest child I love to buy the brand Liewood, which are quite expensive, but they are a Scandinavian brand using beautiful neutral tones and muted colours, with simple designs.
Are there any artists in particular that inspire you and why?
I love the work of Cezanne. I bought some prints of his landscapes when we went to the Tate last year. I love the blocks of colour and big brush strokes, making them simpler than in real life.
Matisse:
I have always love Matisse's paintings, cut outs and drawings. I did my essay on him in year one. I love the fauvist style and use of colours differently, as well as the use of dots to create a landscape.
I also love abstract works of art, for example like the painting below:

I follow an artist on Instagram called Kelsie Rose Davis Creative. I absolutely love her use of colour and the florals that she creates with think paint and palette knives. I plan to practice this technique in the future. I also use her colour combos as inspiration for projects sometimes. https://www.instagram.com/kelsierose.creative/#
What else influences you and why?
Other illustrators work on Instagram really inspire me. If I am lacking inspiration scrolling through my feed always gives me ideas.
Aims and Aspirations.
What do you aspire to for next year? What are you aiming for/where would you like to be?
I aspire to complete by degree in illustration at Arts Uni Plymouth, having gained a lot more knowledge of the career I have chosen. I would like to have my website making money regularly with my designs on products and to expand the range.
Do you have any particular aspirations, dreams or wishes for the future?
My wish is to be able to work from home around the children whilst being able to design full time. I would like to be able to travel to meet clients or colleagues for the social aspect as well. I would like to have published a few children's books. My wish for the future is that I never stop learning new skills and improving the ones I have.
Where, without limitations, would you aspire to be in 5 years?
I would like to be working part time on collections of patterns, either for myself or for a company. I would also like to be writing and illustrating children's books that are published.
